Why do we need green energy? Not all energy produced today is of the equal nature. And as green energy consumers, we must understand where green energy comes from and what its impact on the environment is. Luckily, today, people do have the power to learn where green energy comes from, and, in most cases, decide where it comes from. In this way, people can save money by using green energy and by reducing their personal impact on the environment.
The most important reason that we need to conserve energy when it comes to green energy is that it saves us money. Let’s put it another way: Green energy reduces fossil fuels emissions, thus reducing or eliminating global warming. That’s not all. Green energy also saves the earth from further damage. There are a number of ways to go about using green energy, including:
* Wind: The use of wind as an energy source is becoming more common across the country. Wind turbines are being erected in locations where no electricity can be gotten. Wind turbines can even be placed on roof tops to make wind power a renewable energy source. As more people take wind turbines into consideration, the need for coal and oil will be reduced even further.
* Hydroelectric power: There are a number of dams throughout the country that provide hydroelectric power for rural areas and cities. While these power plants are expensive to operate, they help to preserve the environment from further damage. Additionally, they provide a steady source of clean energy sources, which can be used when the sun does not shine as bright. These energy sources are relatively easy to harness and are readily available.
* Biofuels: The burning of fossil fuels like oil, natural gas, and coal creates large amounts of greenhouse gas emissions. By using biofuels, we can reduce those greenhouse gas emissions, which will greatly improve the world’s environment. Many states have passed legislation which encourages the use of biofuels as an alternative to fossil fuels. Many homes and offices already use biofuels as an energy source.
* Renewable energy: Using renewable energy will greatly reduce our dependence on fossil fuels. With renewable energy, there is no limit to the amount of energy that can be produced. Most of the electricity that is produced comes from the sun, with some other forms coming from tidal wave energy and wind. Some renewable energy sources can even create energy on its own. Unlike fossil fuels and nuclear energy, renewable energy does not cause any pollution.
* Wind: There is a lot of wind power in the US. Several wind farms were built to power cities, but the technology has also been used to build large wind farms for commercial purposes. When wind is used to produce energy, it cleans up the air and reduces the amount of carbon dioxide that is released into the atmosphere. This is one of the reasons why green energy becomes so important.
There are several other sources of energy that have become more accepted than fossil fuels and nuclear energy. Some of the other commonly used forms of renewable energy sources are solar energy and geothermal energy sources. Some countries like Denmark are trying to convert their cars to run on biodiesel fuel. We cannot ignore the advances being made in this area because of the effect it could have. As more people convert their cars to run on renewable energy sources, the less we will need to fear about global warming.
Hydroelectric power: Most of us know about hydroelectric power. It is one of the most common forms of renewable energy used around the world. One of the great things about wind turbines is that they can be used in places where hydroelectric power is not feasible. With some modern day turbines, there are no pollutants produced at all. We cannot ignore the fact that hydroelectric energy is still considered to be one of the most viable forms of renewable energy.
* Solar Panels: Solar power is another alternative type of renewable energy. Many homes use solar panels to heat and cool their homes. The systems are relatively expensive, but the amount they can save you on your heating and cooling costs each year is priceless. We cannot ignore the fact that solar energy is clean energy. That is why do we need green energy at home. A home that is heated with clean energy sources does not need to spend money that it does not have.
So the question still remains, “Why do we need green energy at home?” The answer to that question is both simple and complex. It depends entirely on what kind of lifestyle you live and how much you pay in utility bills. It also depends on what kind of renewable energy you use.
